    • HackFab: Send me a SA email, some of those stocks still will have fees. Small fees, but fees non the less.

    • earthtodan: MerrillEdge give you 30 free trades per month if you have $50k in all your combined accounts with Merrill and BofA. I just made the switch.

    • earthtodan: I have no love for BofA but it's a great brokerage, and freedom from commissions is incredible for investing and reinvesting.

    • rhancock: Too many fees with compushare. Find a good broker and do it yourself and save money.

    • HackFab: Compushare is a tech company, now know as D+H. Computershare is the stock transfer company.

    • HackFab: Computershare fees are small, none, or paid for by the company issuing the stock. A small 'setup' fee is possible.

    • SMurray85: HackFab, I use CS to make purchases of $XOM, $PG, and $COP each month. XOM and PG don't carry any fees for transactions or reinvestments

    • SMurray85: and there are a number of other fee-free purchase plans. The site can be kind of quirky but it's a good set-and-forget approach IMO

    • HackFab: I have five DRiP plans with Computershare: $COP, $DPS, $GE, $HAS, $JNJ , two with Wells Fargo: $K, $SNH,...

    • HackFab: ...and one with American Stock Transfer: $NSC. Check the link to my blog posts.

    • earthtodan: There's nothing like free trades. I can buy 1 share of GE with dividends from something else. Chase something down little by little, etc.

    • 1woody55: Vanguard no fees to reinvest shares. 25 $7 trades per year .all trades $7 over $50,000 in acc,

    • JustNumbersOnaScreen: I am happy with it for my drips, $WTR, $BDX, $XOM, $VER, $LMT, all no fees. Their phone reps tend to not understand issues though.

    • JustNumbersOnaScreen: The best part is I can add new money to all, for free. Dollar cost averaging 50 into each every month has been paying off well.

    • singhisking00: Thanks for all the info!

    • HackFab: $GE and $JNJ both charge a $1.00 fee for ACH transactions, if you set up monthly transfers.
      3/28/14
    • singhisking00: I wasn't planning to do monthly transfers. Just opening a few positions and buying with spare cash

    • HackFab: $GE charges a $3.00 fee if you mail in a check. $JNJ doesn't, IIRC. $JNJ you need to be an existing shareholder to join their DRiP.
