      TARP Passes - Now What?
Remember the "toxic" assets on banks balance sheet is already marked down significantly. Even if fed pays less that, there is not much room to go below, otherwise, it is meaningless to have this program. the most likely outcome is that we will see banks solely concentrated on toxic stuff vanishes by liquidation while well diversified unfortunately banks like GS and MS really benefit from the TARP.

if he is not the one to be blamed, who else? he had at least six months to unload those toxic assets. And opportunity keeping knocking the doors, a week ago, yestday, today. he simply does not want to face the reality. what a bastard! how can this guy ever get a top job like that or lehman was a place for crooks from the very beginning.

      WaMu: Intensification of Stealth Buying
WM's nightmere is far from over even after they chop off their legs to clean the book and they will soon find their creditcard crisis will ask they cut off their head. As for institution buying, actually it is mostly coming from a single British billionare buying. He is just to average down his cost with no other options.

Updates on Networking Sector: F5, Juniper, Akamai
Not sure what this post is all about. I advise people not invest a penny if they have to come here to read the quarter report. I looked the author's background, not even in the networking industry. What insight can we get here? Another blind woman trying to describe the elephant.

      Has Garmin Lost Its Direction?
The PND used to use proprietary technology and now they all using off-shelf merchant chips. There is really not much barrier left. Look at Yahoo and Google maps, can anyone say it is inferior to Garmin's. It is much easier for Nokia/Apple to add GPS functionality than for Garmin to add phone capability. The latter require stringent telco qualification and the former need not. That has been confirmed by Garmin push-out of their Nuviphone. It won't be available until next year and iPhone is offering GPS capability NOW. Garmin has been squeezed into niche if not low-end market. They just lowered their guidance for the whole year. I would expect much worse Christmas season since by then most smartphone will have GPS capability.

What's the Right Price for Oil?
China itself is slowing down and just reduced gas subsidy substantially (18%) not long ago. I dont see any economic catalyst driving up the oil demand for quite a while except the geopolitical situation.

Canadian Solar: The Next Solar Takeover Target?
what happened to seekingalpha? not many quality posts any more, but tons of "shallow" "pumpers". i hardly see any difference between yahoo message board vs this one. Yeah, valuation is low because it is merely 900mil, how about 1000B? this post simply remind me of the internet bubble that just left us not so long ago. i heard people name their holding prices and hope to hand them over to the next idiot who turned out to be himself.

Which Solar Stocks Will Continue To Shine?
I am actually over-weighting STP instead of focus solely on TSL. This is not "buying grocery" and can hardly do apple-to-apple comparison. More like apple-to-cherry to me. TSL has one of the lowest PEG ratio and consistently deliever solid growth. On top of that, they now position themself in the same range grass margin as JASO/STP. it was below 20% before. Solar is a very much manufacture oriented business and consistently need a lot of capital for expansion, renovate equipments and conserve raw materials. Scale does matter. TSL has its niche and STP is better/saver bet in my opinion.

Why the HP / EDS Deal Is Making The Street Nervous
i dont think mark hurd had a choice, his magic was cost control and optimize the operation. he pretty much squeeze everything he can out of the old hpq and need a new battlefield to replicate the trick. EDS is a good target but I'd rather see him do a stock deal than cash. Now hpq -3B on their balance sheet. though long term it most likely work out well, the short term integration and financial risk is just too high, i sold out all my position and will stay away from the stock. There are just too many cheap options available on this market today.
