  • FedEx’s Positively Cleaner Fleet [View article]
I agree with the first two posters, the article tries to imply that Fed Ex is a more energy efficient and cleaner company than its competitors specifically UPS. However he does not include any information about what UPS is doing for the environment. They have spent a lot of time and effort to reduce gas use and carbon released into the air with their famous "right turns" routes and they also endorse paperless direct deposit checks or paycards to save paper and trees.

Also UPS is developing and implementing their own hybrid electric vehicles just like Fed EX. It is also important to keep in mind that UPS is a much bigger company than Fed EX, having 88,000 ground vehicles to Fed Ex's 48,000. That's almost twice as many package cars to replace with hybrid models, I'm sorry but that's going to take a longer time to implement.

Again I'm disappointed with the author of this articles approach. Why not talk about what Fed Ex AND UPS are doing to help the environment and run cleaner and more efficient.
