Even more absurd is that this "consumer group" was petitioning the FCC to revoke both companies licenses, effectively killing them. How is the destruction of satellite radio in the consumer's best interest? Perhaps it is in the NAB's best interest, but not mine.

The 'Real' Story Behind the XM/Sirius Merger

Your initial premise of an interoperable radio is wrong NAB-boy. They were required to develop an interoperable radio, which they did. They were not required to manufacture it, and never received direction from the FCC to do so. Consumers want this merger, so you are 100% wrong "Mr. Hartleib".
