Autism is a very real problem. My nephew has autism and at times does not recognise between socially accepted and not accepted behaviour. Mel's motives, good or bad, does not diminish the probems facing these people. The movie "Rainman" was a watered down version of what the real with Autism is all about. Autistic children can get fixated on one thing for lonnnnnnnnnnnnng periods of time. Seeing my nephew replay a 25 second segment of a video over and over for a half hour was my first insight into his intense focus. Researchers have determined that people that have Autism have Genes that are "turned off". The research into "Turning On" these genes have a potential into other areas. Imagine, being able to "Turn off", the Cancer Gene, or the High Blood Pressure Gene. I wish good health to everyone, and their families.
