Market Volume: Still an Unanswered Question [View article]
Despite all the opining about low volume, I dont see it when I look at the SPY, as recommended in a comment above. The link below is the volume for the past 5 years, on a monthly basis ( you may have to scroll down to see the volumes). The only time volume has been below 3b shares was around Dec 08, in the past 12 months. Otherwise its always above 4b. It gets down to around 4b in Jul and in the last month. In fact, volume has been one of the highest, between the Dec 08 trough and Jul 09. This is true when you stretch the comparison period further back, say 1999, by changing the dates in the lower right. Check it out: finance.yahoo.com/echa...=^GSPC#symbol=^GSPC;ra...
Amylin: A Discounted Option on Byetta's Outcome [View article]
Thanks for the good analysis. A few more details would help the decision. How much did Icahn pay for Amylin shares? How much are Byetta sales down as a result of newly discovered Byetta side effects? What is the likelihood of pancreatitis and thyroid tumors? What is the profit sharing agreement between Amylin and Lilly for Byetta? Where is Byetta with respect to capturing the diabetes market? What is the profit sharing agreement between Alkermes, Amylin and Lilly for extended Byetta?
Ormat Technologies: A Look at Geothermal Energy [View article]
Ormat may be too expensive. Calpine, US Geothermal better bets in this field. cpn has the largest current geothermal capacity, htm just ramping up, recently got Dept of Energy grant for Enhanced Geothermal Systems - tech for improving availability and output. Both stocks depressed, cpn due to nat gas - should pick up as coal gets phased out & cars start running on natgas, htm due to general malaise in energy stocks & small cap.

Isnt EHTH at a disadvantage if Obama gets elected? Obama proposes to establish or expand the health insurance provided to congressmen and federal employees to the general public. So it would make co's business irrelevant, if everybody can get the relatively good health insurance.
Is Northern Dynasty Minerals Now a Bargain? [View article]
Where did the $1,5 billion go? NAK shows only $41million cash at hand. Will the co. be able to develop the mine with so little money, without going out for more funds and diluting the current shares? It shows no revenue, so selling shares or more pieces of the resources are the only ways to get financing. Or maybe it can dig into the mattress for some of that $1,5b.
Not incompetence...intenti... criminal negligence..on behalf of the crooks....these idealogues know very well the hand is giving the middle finger to retail investors....the question is, does the retail investor know....elections will show..
<<The book is being "rehashed" because its the most visible and best explained example of the Bush Administration's incompetence in regulating the stock market. These idealogues believe in the "invisible hand of the market" so much that they can't tell when the hand is giving "retail" investors the middle finger.
The company should lower the cost of the product to start moving it, or maybe give it away and make money on the supplies. It could also be used for other applications where the cream is used, such as minor facial procedures.
Lev Pharmaceutical: Bullish, Despite Delayed FDA Decision [View article]
Once approved, what would prevent other companies to muscle in with their versions? If cinryze has been used in Europe for 20-30 years, it must not have any use or composition patents.
