    REIT indexes have gone nearly exponentially higher recently. Similar spikes higher have happened twice in the last 5 years, and both times were followed by 10% or more correction. So I lightened up my REIT exposure yesterday by dumping 3/4 of my VDC. Sure, they could keep running up, but better safe than sorry. Still holding my O shares though.

    I owned WMB and NCT after they cut the dividends. In both cases, I was rewarded handsomely for averaging down and holding long term. But I lost a lot of sleep.

    I'm long SDRL, currently with half a position bought at $22.50 mostly for the dividend. It's hard to imagine that's not a good buy point in the long term. But has anyone else observed that this unusual decline in oil prices correspond with the Lockheed announcement of a fusion technology breakthrough? Is it possible there really is something to that story that bodes poorly for future oil prices? My gut says it's nonsense.

    Assuming you own ARCP for the yield, the price drop only really matters if you realize the loss or they reduce the dividend. Otherwise, you paid $X for Y% monthly return, and that's exactly what you're getting. No change.

    If you bought it for price appreciation, that's another story. That's why there's a Nasdaq.
