Unfortunately, prices of many stocks before the turmoil were really inflated and after the fall may take many years to return to previous levels, if they do at all. Assumptions for "adequate fundamental analysis" may be true one day and not the next. Or information one day may turn out to be essentially bogus, i.e. mortgage security ratings.
