      Looking for Hope
"Bailing out wall street to save main street is absolutely rediculous."
Anyone with this mentality has their head in the sand.
If the financial system melts down, there go the jobs of many on main street.

3 Things America Needs to Do to Get the Economy Back on Track
"America needs to curb its oil imports by encouraging automakers and consumers to make and buy radically more fuel efficient vehicles."

Yes, BUT you need the WHOLE PACKAGE here...INCLUDING drilling at home, and an alternative energy push.

But speaking of fuel efficient cars, Ford has a great one they sell in Europe (and maybe others too) BUT THEY CANNOT SELL IT HERE because of fed. regulations!

Profiting from the Pickens Plan: FAN, Clean Fuels, Fuel Systems
Anybody see the article on Pickens' reason for pushing wind power?

With it he has emminent domain for a electric corridor through which he can run his pipeline to Dallas supplied by all the water rights that he has bought up.

Wind is a cover for his water play.

      Terra Nitrogen Vs. Terra Industries
Someplace I read that that the share division of the dividend was that the stockholder would get the first __dollar amount (?I dont have the figure) and that above that amount parent company, Terra, would get 50 percent of the remaining dividend.

Is this correct? If so then the shareholder recieves more than 50 percent of the dividend because they get the first x dollar amount.

Upgrade in Fertilizer Stocks Surpasses Rosey Expectations
Regarding fertilizer fears about the cost of natural gas...these costs just seem to get passed unto the farmer.

With the high yield hybrids for corn, more N is needed for more bushels per acre...and that is the farmer's goal, more bushels per acre.
What the city guy does not understand is that despite the ups and downs in corn price, all these prices are sky-high for the farmer and will not affect how much fertilizer he buys because the lack of fertilizer lowers his bottom line....one farmer's opinion.

Re: TNH 'dropping like a rock', I, too, would like input. I have just a few shares.
Here is my very limited take on it: Seems the down trend in Terra has followed some downside and uneasiness in grains. I am a farmer about 60 miles from Terra. They can sell all the N they can make. Whether corn goes up OR down, corn is sky-high from the farming end and farmers need N.
Just in my area the limited number of pivot irrigation systems have at least tripled this winter. The more bushels of corn you can raise per acre the more N (nitrogen, what Terra makes) you need, regardless of the price of corn., So, terra stock may follow the other commodities, but they cannot make too much N or sell any less from what I can see.
