  • Sirius XM Radio (SIRI +0.2%) might look just a bit more interesting to investors with General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler all posting solid sales numbers in December. Don't look now, but the stock that some bears swore last summer would never clear $2 again now trades for over $3 a share. [View news story]
Like I have always said this company is way undervalued for its tremendous potential, 30 bucks a share is not out of line, no other play in town.

  • A sobering thought for automakers circling around today is that gas mileage ratings need to be accurate or profits could be pinched. The development comes after Hyundai (HYMLF.PK) and Kia Motor (KIMTF.PK) tell U.S. senators they will allow owners of vehicles with overstated fuel economy ratings until the end of 2013 to file for compensation. The bill for the pair of Asian automakers could topple $100M each. [View news story]
Driving like an idiot causes poor gas consumption, now blame your stupidity on the car companies

  • Ford (F -1.4%) exec Joe Hinrichs says the automaker is talking with the EPA over mileage claims and will make any needed adjustments. The company is trying to stay in front of the issue after informal testing from Consumer Reports came in with lower fuel economy performance than what Ford calls out. [View news story]
I do better than what ford says I can get in my f150, if one drives like an idiot the mileage goes to pot. Driving sensible one can get the mileage or better.
It just depends on who is doing the testing, if they have money invested in another car company what would the results be test competition.

  • A pair of right-to-work bills are officially passed in Michigan to set the stage for new employees at General Motors (GM +0.3%), Ford (F -0.1%), and Chrysler (FIATY.PK) to skip around union fees. While labor groups are still making quite a bit of noise on the issue, the Big Three have been deathly quiet[View news story]
Every one should belong to a union ask for the moon if they don't give go on strick shut the whole industry down, every body can then fend for themselves, no innovation, no gas, only food is what we grow for ourselves, make our own clothes out of animals we kill with our bare hands, only lumber is what we cut down, burn wood for heat and cooking.
AAh the Stone Age is back, unions are like the mafia, only protected by the Demacrates.

  • The right-to-work issue in Michigan isn't going unnoticed by labor unions. UAW President Bob King was at the state's Capitol building leading a protest against legislation that would allows workers to opt out of unions and not pay dues. The state House passed the measure yesterday by 58-42, sending it along to the Senate. Though the Big Three are deathly quiet on the issue, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine weakened union laws in Michigan could help bottom lines. [View news story]

  • AutoNation (AN -1.2%) CEO Mike Jackson throws a bit of a scare across the automobile industry by telling CNBC (video) a fiscal cliff stalemate could strike the sector during the last ten days of the year when selling is typically high. After a good run in 2012, will the ongoing impact from Hurricane Sandy and muted consumer demand due to political tension spur a disappointing Q4 for automakers in the U.S.? [View news story]

  • A group of Ford (F) workers in Europe stand in protest over the decision of the automaker to close down a plant in Belgium. Though the decision is hardwired with logic as European car demand remains exceedingly weak, the demonstrators outside the company's headquarters on the continent broke windows and burned tires. [View news story]

  • Be Careful Sirius Buyers: Jim Cramer Is A Salesman, Not An Economist [View article]
75 years old ran 50 plus million 100 plus year old familly business. It now is pushing billion dollars in revenue.
Sirius is the only game in town, now with the addition of channels for hispaniacs, along with the new radio, when one is on the road never having to find a stationis. I can see this stock at 20 bucks less then 10 years. Cash flow should allow this to happen.
