Agreed with the comments from Marc G. Nokia just throwing a turd against the wall. The turd smells very bad, will lose money, and be discontinued in the next year.
I have had trouble making picks in this space and getting the timing right. Any negative news causes fast extreme price drops in individual names. You still have to be concerned about Common Stock holders getting washed out to $0. Instead I went long UYG and it has been rewarding so far. Reason: Double return on the entire rising tide, despite some impending bank closings.
What about the SLM Preferred B Shares? I took a small position weeks ago with the attractive yield and increase in yield coming up. What a windfall if they decide to pay Par to buy it back too...

Questions because I don't know the answers: Why not invest then in Chinese ADR's to gain exposure to some of this appreciation? Blue Chip Chinese Companies that get most or all of their Revenue from Mainland China? How will the HKD move with the move up in RMB? You can get HKD from E*Trade although it pays 0% as well. From there you can invest in securities locally (Hong Kong Market) or leave the currency in HKD. While these options are more loosely tied to the direct investment in RMB, should some of the currency effect apply over the long-term (in years)?
