Solar Stocks: Cutting Back on Three Names [View article]
I agree do not sell now. At least wait until earnings. I'd personally like to thank jack for his recommendations on tsl, I'm a believer in tsl now. I took some of my jaso winnings from two months ago and caught tsl on the way down at 33.60 ( felt like a fool a day later), but have since doubled down with a basis of 28.50 and feel confident coming into earnings thanks to jack. As a sirius speculator yesterday was rough, but, holding tsl and stp helped keep me from writing a sad country song about crying in my beer.

the oil industry is also highly subsidized, this is why gas is not higher than it is in this country. Thats why oil and gas subsidies are more important to our elected officials. They take the short term at the expense of the long term, kind of like the final days of the Byzantine empire. Paying off the barbarians not to invade works fine until you run out of money.
I said a few weeks back I like tsl under $36. I bought at 33.60 last week, looking for more. Any thoughts on when common sense starts to prevail on this one.

Hey Jack,
Do you think the Goldman drubbing of tsl will drive it down anymore? I just bought some at 33.60 to get on the wagon, but, am wondering if there is more downside buying opportunties on the way. What do you think?

Hey Ramsgate,
I have open energy, honestly they are awful. I know, great way to pump my stock, huh. They openly buy from stp ( and manage to ruin perfectly good stp product) and have "proprietary" "solar save" "roofing sysytems" in other words they take stp product and make into their roofing tiles named "solar save". They are a two bit penny stock that the only information you can get is by reading their filings and honestly their filings are pretty uninspired they are extremely leveraged by quercus (? spelling dont care) trust who is their sugar daddy. Shareholder dilution galore and a filing about massive losses in warranty claims due to "delamination" of their product. Yeah I bought in a while back on huge hype and don't have the conviction to flush the toilet at 27 cents

No doubt, i'll take electricity too. I'm not too proud to drive an extended range electric car. Stop in at a battery station for a swap instead of a fill up. I'm long solar, but, thats just it this country is long solar as in a long way off. So in the mean time until we wise up I'll have a little tea while my crumpet is still baking in the sun. Yes, Brazil makes some fine (sugar cane and texas T) tea, too bad the gulf states wouldn't wise up and follow their equation they could use some cash crop money to clean up down there.

another great article, I liked it all except I personally think the oil could potentially be more of a wildcard now than it was before. This is purely anecdotal, but, I walked by a tv screen playing cnbc (which I think is the investor version of junk food) and it had the price of crude emblazened in the corner of the screen must have taken at least %10 of the view hole. People are losing their minds on the whole gas thing (thanks media). I follow stp (yes poor me I know) and in the last month outside the german subsidy story this sector has seemed to be glued to the hip of crude movement, its definitely fun to watch.

Being from a highly rural neck of the woods, I would honestly like some disclosure from government agencies to the media about past practices of subsidizing farmers to plow under their crop (namely corn) to keep from flooding the market with product (back before it was worth more than 23$ an acre). I have seen it done so you can say it doesn't exist all you want, I don't care.
America doesn't need to wake up for solar to be good, the rest of the world is going to take us to the woodshed on this one (just look at the socialistas in spain). Just look at Brazil now whos laughing in the game of energy independance. These companies represent the next generation, panels aren't so ugly anymore just look at the BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) this is not your fathers solar panel. Some of the offerings from STP look like actual skyscraper windows and are actual roofing grade material, not some hunk of junk sitting on top of the roof. Hey, by all means keep playing negative sentiment then I can get more on the cheap.
