    • 2 Safe Bets Amidst Big Banks' Worrying High Yields [view article]
The investment and regional banks should be beat down after the scam they ran with the CMO's and sub prime.I have a large position in local bank upstate NY that is run very well, profit increases the last two quarters and foreclosure rate well under 1%.Now the share price is in the dumpster.USB has been on my watch list but I'm reluctant to touch any financial and my guess is the financial sector will take years to recover.

      Right on article.

    • Upstream MLPs and Canadian Royalty Trusts: High Return, High Risk? [view article]
I presently own PVX (Provident Energy Trust) and BBEP (MLP) and have owned other Canroys the Last few years.I agree 100% that the Socialist Canadian Gov. may continue the assault on the trusts. But you state "could change" "may" regarding MPL's.BBEP hedging goes way down going forward and in my eyes is way under priced at $20.91 and a 8.2% divy,PVX owns 20% of BBEP. David, in the last 15 years I haver never bought anything that has not paid a divy.My time line is 2 to 9 years and it has worked for me.

I own ADVDX(5% of portfolio) and collect a large divy monthly, yes my principal is down but if you believe in the markets I shall have it all back and more.
