American based in Moscow with 20 years+ experience investing in emerging markets as a private equity guy. Now managing my family's U.S. portfolio, which has been a big shift in my mind set. What a transparent and over-analyzed market! My investment orientation is for above-average income and protection of principal given today's many global uncertainties. There is much money to be made in emerging markets, but this is best for those of us who live there. For most of us, the US market is still the best. I am still learning, and want to make wise choices over the next 10-20 years, when I think the world will go through some fascinating economic transitions. The United States will retain it's pre-eminent position, but most
global growth will come from emerging markets. When they align their political power with their economic power, the US$ status of a reserve currency will fall, and the global economic world will shift. But when?
