    Mike's short position is Pavlovian. He's been short the fruit since June, $170 ago. Of course, he will eventually be right, stopped clocks and all that.

    He seems to accept that sales of an extra 17m iPhones will act as a tailwind, yet still insists on being short due to the maturity of have market. That logic would dictate I shorted the reveal of the figure, not the anticipation of it.

    Like I said, Pavlovian.

    Thank you for a well written piece. Nuance came to my attention on the bad earnings and Icahn involvement. Your thesis adds to my idea that just everything bad has now been priced in and we have a businessman and his cohorts on the board now to realize some value. Looks fairly low risk/reward.

    I've been short TGT for some time. I think they've lost sight of their core customer, which is why home and apparel are getting killed. Similarly throwing more money at Canadian expansion is just augmenting into a difficult market that's already kicking your a... I like the city store concept, and I think if they can get back to their core customer, the upper/middle middle class then they start to repair the damage. The plan seems to have been to take on WMT. That's not a battle I'd choose.
