  • What The Street Might Be Missing On Refiners; Why The Brent/WTI Spread Might Continue To Contract [View article]
I agree with this thesis but this article is a very tough read, oh so very wordy. Paid by the word maybe?

And yes, by not discussing the subject of spread, I think analysts are trying to mislead the sheep.

  • Annaly Capital Makes Shrewd Move To Boost Future Interest Income [View article]
Thanks for lowering the price Tim, it needs to go a bit lower please, if you can. BTW, who hired you to help them hoodwink the muppets, was it the same group of fellas who've been pumping AGNC like it's the best thing since sliced bread?

  • End Of The mREIT Honeymoon? [View article]
Not nearly as opaque as just about any other sector, and when was the last time a bubble was identified before it popped?

Thanks, mREIT bears, you want in for yourselves is what you're actually trying to say.

Looks like an opportunity in AGNC has just opened up, better jump on it!

  • Food Stamps: The Most Accurate Economic Indicator [View article]
What about the current corporate welfare program, how does this contrast with simply mailing out checks? I guess government (ie: special interest groups) can get more bang (for themselves) with our bucks through corporate welfare.

    Thus, up goes the market.

  • Using Common Sense And Perpetuities [View article]
If US and Japan are run as two separate businesses, then how can the Japanese segment, whether impacted by exchange rate or profitability, impact US GAAP EPS or for that matter, cash flow?

I guess Japanese wealth is flowing out of country in a quest for return, however, based on your point, fail to see any connection between AFL's US vs Japanese operations. In fact, it seems the larger scenario may favor the Japanese operation.

  • Gold Stocks Are A Minefield, Pun Intended [View article]
Central banks have been buying gold ever since the top was in, they were selling gold prior to the bottom over a decade ago.

Hmm, who's on the other side of that trade, friends and family maybe?

Ever notice GS only buys back stock at/near tops? Who do you think is on the other side of that trade, friends and family, maybe?

"At this point, the company hasn't released any actual data on gram-positive sales, which puts virtually everyone in the dark."

Perhaps sales are disappointing, that would be my assumption.
