Yingli Green Energy: Tidy Earnings Bump Up Against Anti-Solar Sentiment [view article]
Solar stocks prices let me remember two years ago shipping sector. In particular, I owned DRY in June 2006 when DRY was traded less than $10.
It was so cheap, big earnings, quarter by quarter, but Wall Street repeatedly said that dry shipping is a very risk business because the rates could up or down big.
But one year and half later, the stock went to $130, a 1,300% gain. The whole sector flied including EXM, TBSI, ... just name a few.
I believe that solar sector stocks as a whole (I mean Chinese solar stocks) are in bottom now. As long as they kept growing as they are now and in the near future, the stocks will be much higher in one year.
Ignore all the noises, do you own analysis.
Our fund now is over-weight on solar sector.

China's Giant Interactive Should Buy Rival 9you [view article]
I agree with big-papa.The Wall Street's worry has its rationale. GA just invested 51.com and Shi should learn from the failure of his own aggressive over expansion he made in 1990s when his software product was a big success.
Often it is the case one may most likely to repeat the mistakes. If he feels very good on himself it may be the time to fail.
Of course I bought big yesterday before close at $9.00 and I am expecting small bounce today. But I will be very careful on GA's long term strategy.

In the Cat Bird Seat: A Review of Emcore’s Business [view article]
Very good article and give inside info on the company. We just added the stock into our long term portfolio. It is a steal at $4-$5 level.
One thing concerns me though is how the company is going to turn to profit.
If the company always burns investor's money with no return, no one will buy it.

Will Some Solar Companies Face a Cash Crunch? [view article]
The main customers for those solar companies are in European countries such as Germany, Spain, etc. These countries have the long reputation of doing good business practices. I don't think that they will refuse to pay the deliveries.
It is normal to pay in 30-90 days. Don't let those to scare or mislead small investors.
The publish of this article at this time is a good indication that the solar stock prices are approaching bottom.
The same type of article is also appear on Yahoo by Motley Fool last week.
Solar sector will keep growing for at least the next few decades. We expect new technology will be developed, cost will be bringing down, efficiency will increase. Wider application will be expected.
Solar energy is a good, clean way to solve long term energy shortage problem. As SUN provide huge amount of energy to the earth free.
If we only use very small portion of it, we can completely get rid of oil. Oil will be used up sooner or later. Solar energy will not.
Chinese solar companies have the cost advantage compared with US companies. Some companies also do have their own technology.
I will continue investing in the future of our clean energy industry no matter how the noise bashes the industry poineers.

To Hedge or Not to Hedge: For Airlines, Is That The Question? [view article]
The purpose of hedging should be to make the company profitable. If, say, $90.00 is break-even point, as long as the price is lower $90, you should always try to lock that price.
