The fact is Dow is twice the size of the diminished DuPont in revenues and assets, three times the size by stockholder equity.
Dow AgroSciences has been managed successfully; DuPont's troubled AG & NUT "platform" admitted last Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 DuPont's attempt to develop and commercialise a timely FIRST-generation GM seed trait to compete with Monsanto has BOMBED.

For the record, the undersigned holds shares in DOW and MON, and has no position long or short in DD.

For perspective, in the first nine months of this year, 2009, Pharma accounted for circa one-third of total DuPont PTOI! DuPont's customarily secretive Management to date has said very little publicly about this BIG BLACK HOLE, but has indicated they will be more forthcoming this week on Nov. 3, 2009 at a conference for investors and analysts at the Company's World Headquarters For Sustainable Excellence in Wilmington, Delaware. Heads-up, fellow investors!

However empirical observations and opinions from former and active DuPont employees on other internet blogsites, including the Yahoo! Where are the revenues from all these "new products"?? In the spirit of transparency which she trumpets, Ms. Kullman should make a complete list of these "new products" available to the media, analysts, and investors. ...funfun..]]>

DuPont Executive Vice President, Jeffrey Keefer brags disingenuously, if not deceptively,

"DuPont had a strong third quarter..."

What in the world is he blabbering about?

Revenues cratered, down 20%!
World-wide volumes were down 12%!
Earnings per share were flat, if the nickel in tax benefits is factored out.

And Keefer goes on with his snake oil pitch,

"After accounting for the tax benefit, stilll a very, very, solid quarter"

Fellow investors, that is VERY, VERY misleading and distorting to frame one of the sickest, weakest DuPont quarters in memory in such a dishonest fashion! ...funfun..]]>

Folks, DuPont's leaders "reaffirmed" an EPS range for full year 2009 of $1.70 to $2.10. DuPont has earned $1.00 for the first half, so DuPont execs are expecting to make another $1.10, best case for the second half?

Trouble is no analyst surveyed by Yahoo! Finance comes anywhere close to this Pollyannaish projection by DuPont. Look at the analysts' numbers for the second half, 2009:

They range from $0.45 to $0.80, with analyst consensus at $0.63.

Unless DuPont is expecting a large gain on the sale of a segment or business line, such as Automotive Finishes, the upper part of the range appears misleading, if not deceptive, given the dramatic declines in volumes and sales and earnings to date. ...funfun..]]>

For example, were the 124 new tints and shades of automobile paints introduced in Q1 2009 counted for public relations purposes as "new products" by DuPont?

speaking of DuPont's intractably troubled seed trait, parodically called Optimum™GAP™, and the much delayed conversion of Pioneer's tired and ordinary seed line-up.

What? According to her official DUPONT PRESS RELEASE (July 21, 2009), Q2 sales for her touted DuPont AG & NUT "segment" grew by only a meagre $72 million to $2.613 billion from $2.541 billion the year before, 2008. That's up only 2.8%, hardly "strong".
Moreover, volume actually DECREASED for DuPont AG & NUT, by 4%. That means fewer units of product were sold. That's hardly "strong".

More signficantly, DuPont's lumbering and lagging Pioneer seed house (part of AG & NUT) is about to be clobbered by the launch of Monsanto's SmartStax, second-generation GM corn seeds. 3-4 million acres are expected to be so planted in the 2010 season.

How will you handle the competition from the commerical launch of second-generation GM seeds from superior-managed Monsanto and Dow AgroSciences when your own long-touted, first-generation GM seeds, Optimum®GAT®, has been fumbled, and delayed for major commercial conversion into Pioneer's tired seed line-up until after the middle of the next decade?!

What is the expected LOSS, the chunk of over $1 billion in Pharma PTIO yearly that will vanish with expiring patents on Cozaar® and Hyzaar® in 2010, a little over five months away?

How do you plan to continue paying your rich yearly dividend of $1.64 when the payout will substantially outstrip meagre earnings forecast by analysts for Q3 2009 and Q4 2009?
