Couple of probable bumps in the road to keep an eye on:
1. Multi-tasking: There has been a lot of hype about multi-tasking with Android. Verizon's CDMA network does not allow simultaneous Voice and Data - so multi-tasking is in the toilet. Pundits state that the iPhone doesn't multi-task but why can I talk on the phone, get email, surf the web, play multi-player games, use Maps, etc - all simultaneously. So to me, the iPhone clearly trumps Verizon's Android in this area.
2. Verizon's CDMA network has yet to be tested with a high bandwidth hog like the Android. ATT's network has suffered partly due to the fact that iPhone users actually use their device (while Verizon's devices have been crippled to death to reduce data usage (as the Android is, as noted above). CDMA really has a problem when multiple devices are 'on the same tower' and expect to see cracks in the Verizon 'emperor with no clothes' network!

The real question will be how Verizon's fable network will hold up if they get the same traffic that ATT has with the iPhone.
One big Verizon negative is that it's old (soon to be replaced with LTE) CDMA network can not handle simultaneous Voice and Data (like ATT/iPhone can).
(so much for the multi-tasking benefit - iPhone trumps Droid here)

ATT's network has been unfairly getting a bad rap.
I switched from Verizon to ATT and have been completely satisfied with ATT.
Actually, ATT's network is better than Verizon as it allows simultaneous voice and data, something you can not do with Verzions antiquated CDMA network (to be replaced by LTE in a few years)!

1. iPhone is a great phone for talking and phenomenal for conferencing.
2. ATT has been better than Verizon for me - signal everywhere and no limitation on combined voice/data with ATT
3. Battery life has be fine. Never gone dead yet.
4. iPhone keyboard is fast - I tied a Crackberry addict (boy, was she pissed!)
5. Mail on the iPhone is fantastic - I have a gmail account which allows push along with immediate OTA calendar synchronization.

Also, why be a Windows masochist? Just bite the bullet and get a Mac. I am tired of people complaining about Windows but too wimpy to get a Mac.
