      Assessing the ThinkPad Since Lenovo Got it From IBM
      Consumer Reports, due to the lag in publication, old style journalism and the inability to really survey the field, do horribly with articles on computers. Usually, by the time their report comes out, the market has changed direction. Of course, that doesn't mean their readers don't drink the Kool Aid.

      Nice summary. Job's health should not be an issue. Anyone who watches Apple would agree that the presentation is exactly what was expected - Jobs always focuses on one major topic, the iPod in this case. In a month or so, we'll see Laptops in the Apple Force Field.

      Complete Web Browsing On Your Cell Phone? Not Yet
      If you " WANT the real PC Internet on a mobile device", get a Windows Mobile device. You'll have the crashes, lockups, slow downs, nested menus, registry and everything else.

      If you want the best web experience on a 3 inch screen, get an iPhone or an iPod Touch.

      If you want FLASH (or Silverlight), use your laptop. FLASH does not equate with 'proper web experience'. It is a slow resource hog even on a 'real' computer.

      Bottom Line: Supporting proprietary formats on the Web is not where things are going. Before complaining about the iPhone, try rendering a web page on a Blackberry, WinMobile device or better yet, a Palm Treo!

      Why buy this when MactheRipper, Handbrake and others are free? Maybe someone should figure out how to make 'backup copies' of the Real software?

      Real Networks New DVD Ripper: Are You for Real?
      MactheRipper and Handbrake work great for copying DVD's but I think the real endpoint is not bothering and just rent a copy from iTunes or Amazon. Real Networks has a history of this, with it's prior attempt to usurp Apple by bypassing Fairplay.
