  • Homebuilder ETF Rises Despite More Bad Housing News [View article]
The ETF had it's plunge already, down to 13. It's a great buy. I'm in since beginning of year at about 17. Long term, you cant beat a sector that's down 70%. Heck, if you're a long-term investor, and you're not buying something like this, exactly when ARE you going to buy??? If you're not buying, you're not a long-term investor, you're a market timer.

  • Homebuilder Performance and Revenue Matrix [View article]
farfignewton, i dont think it's defying logic.... the homebuilders began declining as early as 2006, when the housing market was fantastic, going thru the roof. The market is always ahead of the stats. Most people say 6 months, but in this case, it's more than a year. i remember when the junk bond market began to collapse in 1998. I think that was a predictor of the market collapse in 2000, which predicted the recession of 2001-2.

  • Homebuilder Performance and Revenue Matrix [View article]
Darned, articles like this are going to spoil my gains and blow my cover! This is the first article to point out that homebuilders are up for the YTD. While everyone else is focused on the news, these stocks are moving up.
What I need is a return to utter negativity, reciting the awful statistics, and telling me that I was crazy for going into this sector on 1/2/08. Only then can my gains continue. Come on SeekingAlpha readers, bring it on with those gloomy posts!

  • Not Yet Time to Buy Homebuilders [View article]
I so disagree. If you are a long-term investor, how can you NOT buy a sector that is down 75-90%????? Sure, wait, wait till you hear good news. Wait till the sector is up 50%. Don't believe me? ITB fell to about 13.3 in January. Now it's in a trading range between 17 and 20. So, already you've missed as much as 50% of the gain. Not yet time? As a long-term investor, now is precisely the time. Did I catch the exact low? Of course not. I bought at 16. Will you catch a bottom with that advice to wait.? Not even close. If you wait till everyone is buying homes, you are way way way too late. It's opinions like the above that cause investors to alway buy high, and sell low in panic. After 40 years of investing, I've learned my lesson.
