Well, his comment (hmtansi1) has already 16 Likes, vs only 2 from your reply Paulo.
It seems that yes, people agree with him.

This is NOT our experience. We are still using iPhones 4, 4S, etc. without any problems. Also iPads since version 2. ALL of them working fine. They are not overpriced for the value that they give you.

  • Apple Should Post An Astounding Q1, But It Might Be A Hard Act To Follow [View article]
So what is Apple doing ? Innovating and testing many new product concepts and enhancements to their present ones. Of the new concepts, they will probably decide for one or two that have huge potential to disrupt and grow. The iphone enhancements could be also very powerful and convincing, as previous upgrades have been. A new iOS 9, probably a new, bigger ipad, more work in the Enterprise front, Apple Pay growth (it is only beginning), etc.
Based on what we have seen and proven effective and real by the profits and the share price, I will gladly give Apple the benefit of the doubt and my support - by not selling my shares, because I believe they will continue to go up. They have been doing a terrific job - despite many voices against them- and I don't see how this team could be stopped, specially after all the great news of 2014. There is no scarcity of problems out there that Apple could address to continue growing.

He might or not be a dummy, but he seems to be a very emotional person. He seems to blame Apple for the BlackBerry problems.

  • Update: Apple's iPad Needs To Bring More [View article]
Ipad future sales will come at least from 4 sources: 1) US and European and Asian replacements from installed base, starting in 2015, 4 years after 1st ipad. 2) New sales in emerging markets. See yesterday call with Tim Cook. 3) New sales to new iPhone 6 owners coming from Android (halo effect) to take advantage of Apple's ecosystem. By the way, this will also apply to iMacs. 4) Corporate purchases, IF the IBM-Apple joint venture to develop industry specific apps finally works (I was surprised not to hear an update on this during last week's presentation)

  • Apple Earnings Preview: Fiscal 2015 Looks Solid, But What About After That? [View article]
I agree with chabig. And Apple will continue to gradually innovate their products (and services and ecosystem) to always be a few steps ahead of the rest. As long as they continue to add value from their customers point of view, they will be able to grow and maintain their margins and their customers.
Another misconception is that commoditization is a must. This is not correct. Cars have been here longer than Smartphones and are clearly different market segments from budget to luxury players. I do not see BMW or Audi or Mercedes or Porsche disappear and lose to Toyota or others. To each its own. Of course you need to know how to play your segment to make money.
If you don't like the car industry analogy, let's talk about ladies purses. They have been around ... forever. Are they a commodity ? No. You can find all kinds of purses at many, many different prices. From less than $10 to Thousand of Dollars. They all sell - to different segments - and a few companies are making a lot of money. And their customers of course know that they could buy something much less expensive, however they do not. And they could not be happier about spending the money to get what they want. Quality of materials and workmanship, design, status, satisfaction and many other physical and psychological elements are in play here. Are these luxury purse manufacturers worried about being commoditized ? I do not think so.

  • Apple Shares Are Ripe For A Pullback - Time To Take Profits [View article]
Because: when you use and repeat arguments that have already been shown false, like the market share argument, people logically react to it. It is a wrong and weak concept that has been discussed many, many times. So, you are not bringing anything new or creative to the discussion, therefore not adding value and wasting everybody's time. People do not like to waste time.
Also, your comment that September 9 was uninspiring is totally emotional on your part and you did not present any arguments. What else do you want in an event !? Apple showed 2 new, beautifully designed bigger phones, a new product that will define and revolutionize the SmartWatch Category and a new service that has the chance to revolutionize payments and that the day of the launch, already has the support of the major credit cards, major banks and big retailers ! You don't think ANY of these 3 things are major ?
Well, then my only advise is for you to think again and be tolerant and accept all kinds of comments. Needless to say, you asked for it.

  • Apple Watch: 3 Things You May Want To Know [View article]
    Good, objective article, thanks.
In my case, we are planning to buy 6 of them. We think it will a) improve our group communications, b) give each of us continuos and plenty information about our health, maybe triggering some personalized actions to improve it, c) Capture information when we are working out, information that we do not have today, d) quickly respond to emails or messages that require one to five word responses, getting them out of the way, therefore improving our productivity, e) use Siri to ask for several things during the day. Some of these will take us to the iPhone or ipad and that is fine, f) do quick calendar checks without having to open the iPhone, g) pay for stuff with Apple Pay. We know this will take some time, but it will eventually arrive to a significant number of shops.
This is only a short version of what we thought, but the Apple Watch seems to have plenty of functionality and benefits for us to purchase it. I am sure many developers are actively working to bring additional specific Apple Watch apps.
If it improves our productivity by a mere 10 hours PER YEAR, it will pay for itself - we assume here that the value of our time is worth at least 35 Dollars per hour.

  • Update: Apple's Watch Launch Event Remained A Bit Disappointing [View article]
Not clear to me that you know what you are doing. What is clear is that you are quite arrogant, not a very solid trait to have. You are also wrong about the Apple Watch and also it seems that you do not get Apple.
Apple Watch is a new, nascent category and Apple just made a statement about its decision to participate in it and become the dominant player. That is what yesterday was all about regarding the Apple Watch. Of course, the watch or watches will suffer many iterations over the years, just like the ipod, the iphone and the ipad. This is a new and young category and will have many turns along the way and I believe, from what it was shown yesterday, that Apple is dead serious about being the leading player in it. I believe it is a good, calculated bet and a logical one for Apple.

  • The iPhone Will Be In Third Place In 2015 [View article]
"... Seems to do most things that smartphones are supposed to do ...".
Can I sync my songs from iTunes ... No
Can it automatically sync my contacts, calendar, files, notes, ... No
Can I edit spreadsheet or word processor files ... Probably not
Can I take a panorama photo ... Guess not
Can I take 10 photos per second ... No
Can I sync with my Nike fuelband ... No
Can I give instructions by voice to the phone ... Probably not
Can I dictate ... Probably not
    Etc, etc....
Then most probably you have a dumb smartphone.

How much profits does Nokia make ? Zero ? Negative ?
The more you grow in the unprofitable low-end, the more you lose.

Hmm... 64 bit A7, M7, 2x speed, much better camera with many new functions, fingerprint recognition, fully redesigned iOS7, better Siri, etc. ... Seems they added quite a bit for one year, more than what many people expected... but yes, it does not wash any clothes yet ...

I agree. You can always lower the price, but you can almost never increase it.
