  • Apple's Low Volume: Meaningful Pause Before Going Higher? [View article]
I reckon demand destruction has had plenty to do with this. Underlying fundamentals are still strong. Look for Apple to peak at $240-$250 this year.

  • Nokia Gets No Respect Against Apple, RIM [View article]
I'll just sit and watch my long position in Apple get bigger and bigger - market, distribution, innovation, cool factor - none of it's competitors even come close....wait till China and India cotton on to it.....

  • A Real iPhone Challenger - Barron's [View article]
What HTC lacks, which cannot possibly under-estimated with innovative technology, is the cool factor.
I live in Sydney, Australia, where the latest Mac store just opened downtown, to lines 1/2 mile long. Pre-orders for impending iPhone (first ever release here July 11) are already surpassing expectations (I have insider info at Optus-one of two carriers). In one of the most hotly contested mobile markets in the world, these things will fly out the door, whilst HTC and all other wannabees will languish in Apple's dust.
I'm long AAPL, and will laugh even more after this consolidation finishes and we see it hit $250 by year end.

  • Will Apple's Second Generation iPhone Buck the Trend? [View article]
Let's not forget that both of these (LG & MOT) products are one-dimensional.....th... are hundreds of "me-toos" like them from every major manufacturer in the mobile world.
What Apple has done differently, as with everything else, is look at fresh ways to innovate that capture the world's attention. Let's remember it was not that long ago that one Mr. M Dell said that Apple should sell up and go home (paraphrase). Apple's market CAP is now 3 times that of Dell, which languishes in the "we only do PC's" hell that they have created. Talk about stuck in a paradigm!
And as for Steve's health, the Apple machine is WAY bigger than just one guy - there is no doubt that there is a succession plan in place, which a publicly traded company of it's size would have to have as a matter of governance and compliance. Give that one a rest, focus on the fundamentals, and watch Apple charge through $250 by end of year.

  • How to Get Apple to $200 [View article]
I just lost 5 minutes of my life trying to decipher the largest load of nonsense ever read. I look for the following in buying ALL growth stocks: low PEG (under 1.25), forward PE under 30, debt/equity under 0.6, estimated earnings and sales growth 25%, proven earnings & sales growth over 25%; market leader and innovator (read any Buffett stuff BTW); it's served me well, I bought AAPL low hundreds and let the winner run, employing stop loss strategy when 20% off high. Never mind all this other mind numbing rubbish.

  • Could iPhone Subsidies Be Apple’s Ticket to Mainstream USA? [View article]
I think Apple will go the way of the iPod - introduce multiple products with different price points, let the consumer decide what they need
