How Merrill Lynch Moved Its 'Microwave Ovens' [View article]
It is more than appalling to me that these firms are made to pay fines than not admit any wrongdoing. If I was a shareholder I would be curious if we would have a lawsuit against the firm for giving away shareholder money (the settlement) if they did nothing wrong? (not admitting wrongdoing is tantamount to giving away assets for no reason) Your thoughts? I also believe that they should have to pay ALL the money they grossed, not netted, from selling the product, right now if they make $90mm and settle to pay $30mm they still make $60mm, hardly a deterrent.
