      Ross Fischer's calcs are a bit off. If you get 2.8 gallons of ethanol per bushel of corn and you grow 200 bushels of corn per acre, and you use his .85 gallons of diesel per gallon of ethanol, then a corn farmer with 1000 acres would need almost a half million gallons of diesel oil to plant and harvest her crop. Assuming it's a typo, it's the kind of mistake that if left alone leaves a needless bad impression and smacks of a bias Apr 07 02:12 PM
