  • Short Bond ETFs Get Short Shrift [View article]
I used BIL as my MMF earlier this year after reading in the semi-annual report my Columbia Treasury Reserves was full of Bear Sterns repos. So for me it was a matter of safety at the time. Since then Columbia has replaced the Bear Sterns repos with other repos.

  • How Now, Charles Dow? [View article]
I have owned both DDM and UXI and they are not the same, check it at proshares site. DDM is the DOW 30 stocks and UXI is a sector fund with over 250 different industrail stocks. No Financials! No C no BAC. Also UXI is thinly traded with wide spread bid and ask, so DDM is the correct fund for this article.

  • No-Commission ETF Trading Gains Steam [View article]
I have accounts at both WFC and BAC but just learned about the free trades in January so I bought a 25K CD at BAC and moved my investment account from a full service broker. At 30 trades a month I am saving $900 now each month. The only difference is after a stock sale the money is not available for another trade for 3 days where as the full service broker the cash was available for the next trade right away.
