Robert James Perrego has well over a decade of experience as an analyst and trader in both the fixed income and equity markets on Wall Street. With the company he founded in 2007, Buy Low Sell High LLC, Robert brings his professional market advice to both the home investor and professional traders. Robert created and is selling an educational stock chart reading package online at www.StockTradingCards.com.
Robert was born in Albany, New York on July 16, 1965, and grew up in Guilderland, a suburb of Albany.
Growing up, even though it took longer than most, if he ever has, Robert spent his summers fishing, hunting and playing baseball. By the time Robert was 16 years old, he was competing as a marksman ...More in the 50 foot small-bore class. Later that year, he was awarded the ranking of a distinguished expert in marksmanship, the highest level you can achieve. In the winters he wrestled on the high school team for a year and played on the lacrosse team in the spring. One summer, he bought a 1968 Pontiac Firebird, and dropped an oversized blueprinted engine into it. This may have been a mistake as he proceeded to drive like a maniac, and even though the cops tried to catch him on many occasions, they never did.
After graduating from Clarkson University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, he drove that Firebird across the country to attend Pepperdine University. There, Robert graduated and received his first Master’s degree. At Pepperdine University, Robert assisted their Division I Lacrosse coach, usually running the defensive squad drills. In 1992 Robert became the Head Coach for the Albany State Women’s Lacrosse team, leading them to an undefeated season. The next year the women’s club team petitioned the University under Title IX of the Educational code and gained full Division III funding.
Robert started his Wall Street career in 1993 at Cowen & Company on their Municipal Bond institutional trading desk after completing his Master Thesis in Economics at Albany State University. His thesis on the issuance methods of Municipal Bonds for the New York State Senate Finance Committee, and statistically proved that the competitive issuance of Municipal Bonds was cheaper for municipalities than negotiated issuance. In just over a year at Cowen, he was promoted to Underwriter.
After leaving Cowen in the spring of 1997, Robert managed a stock brokerage shop for Andrew Lanyi at CIBC Oppenheimer. He later joined Worldco LLC as a Proprietary Equity Trader in October of 1998.
Two major factors that helped Robert to become successful in his trading, were learning risk analysis and Technical Analysis. In trading and investing, learning to pay attention to the risk in a trade is just as important, if not more important, than simply looking at how much money a trade could make. The study of Technical Analysis and reading Stock Charts became his chief tool in identifying profitable trades.
After being promoted to Managing Director at Worldco, one of Robert’s duties was to train the new traders on his team. Known within the firm as a chart reader, he was asked to lecture to Worldco’s traders about Technical Analysis and to train them to read Stock Charts.
Following his career at Worldco, Perrego worked for David William Securities as a corporate bond dealer contact / junior trade in corporate bonds and U.S. Treasury debt. After leaving, Rob took this index stock trading cards concept one step further and created a portable system of trading cards to help people master technical analysis. The success of the Worldco videos and the effectiveness of the trading cards inspired Robert to found Buy Low Sell High LLC and to combine these tools into an effective, practical multi-media educational package now available to the public.
Then Perrego worked for UpCompany Inc. as an internet analyst and financial markets expert, writing online about stocks and the equity markets. After leaving UpCompany, Robert wrote his first book.

"How Do You Like Me Now? A True Story of Greed, Fear and Disaster as a Wall Street Day Trader" In 1998 the internet bubble was bulging and the stock market was on fire. Everyone in America seemed addicted to stocks, and Rob Perrego was along for the ride.
In October of that year he signed on at Worldco LLC. to become a professional day trader, and his life became a roller coaster of soaring highs and ...More
crushing lows that almost drove him insane. Learning to make money was as risky and exhilarating as gambling in Vegas. But after an arduous period of study, trial and error. Perrego became a consistently profitable trader and Worldco made him a managing director. At one point he was moving millions of dollars of stock a day and earning $10,000 a week. Day trading seemed more like hitting a cash register than working for a living.
But hubris has its price, and the ride could not last forever. In this honest, insightful, and gripping book, Perrego takes us behind the scenes into a hidden, high stakes world where triumph and disaster take place in the blink of an eye.We come to understand not only how fear and greed rule the stock market, but also the psychological and emotional costs paid by those who choose to play the game.
