Sailing The Seas Of Natural Gas With Golar LNG [View article]
I was looking into this article to do research on Cheniere Energy (LNG), and the nice growth of its main industry--natural gas--is sure to play out nicely for it.
After getting hammered and then halted yesterday (I, II) thanks to an unfavorable ruling on the collection of past damages, Vringo (VRNG +3.5%) is up moderately in early trading. Closing arguments in the Google trial are expected today, after which a jury will deliberate. [View news story]
Penny stocks are a mixed bag. They are ridiculously cheap to buy, but they move very quickly in terms of stock value percentage--the small size of penny stock companies (most notably Vringo itself) makes them unstable.
More on Vringo: The federal judge overseeing the Vringo-Google case has ruled Vringo (VRNG -42.3%) can't collect damages from Google for the 6 years preceding the filing, should the jury rule Google to be infringing Vringo's IP. The judge also shot down a Vringo request to refrain from making a final ruling on the matter until Vringo presented a rebuttal witness. (tip: SA author Modernist) [View news story]
That could create an interesting trend within the entire market....it's always a good idea to take a look at the bigger picture.

And, even if Vringo wins the trial, will it be able to recover from these very heavy losses during the trial?
Vringo (VRNG -36%) issues a PR confirming a ruling that (citing the doctrine of laches) prevents it from collecting damages from Google for activity prior to Sep. 15, 2011, the date of its lawsuit filing. Vringo adds Google's motions to dismiss Vringo's infringement claims were denied, and that closing arguments for the trial are expected to begin tomorrow. Shares were halted around 3:10PM ET today after a freefall. [View news story]
Vringo has more to lose or gain from this trial than Google because of the smaller size of its company.

It appears from my perspective that most of the Vringo-related attention is on this trial, so it doesn't have the buffer that Google has, as it is such a small company, it its stock value percentage changes more each day than GOOG.
Is Domino's about to eat Pizza Hut's lunch? While Pizza Hut (YUM -0.7%) keeps a concentrated focus on growth potential in China, Domino's (DPZ +1.2%) says it will take on the company head on in the U.S. with a move into pan pizza. Starting today, the company's 5K U.S. stores will offer the popular style that accounts for close to 20% of the broad pizza market. [View news story]
Considering the popularity of pan pizza, this could affect all relevant companies...
Google Wallet (GOOG) use has more than doubled since the mobile payments platform received an early-August upgrade that added support for all major debit and credit cards, says Google in a blog post exhorting card issuers to give Wallet their support. But Google still isn't providing any numbers - Square, on the other hand, is all too happy to give out updates regarding its transaction run rate. Meanwhile, Verizon is once again blocking Google Wallet use on the Galaxy Nexus. (Isis delays) [View news story]
This is a prime example of how fierce the market can be between companies. We should look at how this plays out.
Apple's (AAPL) efforts to stop the June 21 launch of Samsung's (SSNLF.PK) flagship Galaxy S III have been denied by U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh, who appears to be getting fed up with the enormous volume of lawsuits being thrown around. A trial is now set for July 30 - expect the Galaxy S III, which has seen huge pre-orders and will be sold by all 4 nationwide carries, to do brisk business between now and then. [View news story]
My question is, will Apple's argument be strengthened or weakened by the fact that the company will have time to profit before the July 30 trial?

Dunkin' has a lot of potential and ample room for growth, and it doesn't look like it is going to hit resistance anytime soon. I have high hopes for the company.
