  • Sirius XM: Latest News Roundup  [View article]
The stock price of most stocks at the moment and maybe of the past year are not based on rational or logical decisions. IMO people have more access to the market via the internet and look at the most stocks with volatility as lottery tickets because the are too busy to do true basic research. Being busy to keep their jobs pay the ever increasing taxes they no longer have time left to do the work to make adult decisions with their money. All I see is people bad mouthing others for their opinions because they do not agree with their's. The stock is going up or the stock is going down ,
make your decision to sell or buy more. Let people spew their opinion, wether it is good or bad opinion in your opinion. Stop the petty childish name calling that does not do anything to improve the knowledge of the site or the insight into the stocks. Just my uneducated opnion.

$.63 at the time and $3.00 last year what has changed no competion of sat services. Terrestial radio we all know can suck on long trips. All hand held devices need the purchase of item and need to pay monthly fees or they free. It took a short time for FM radio to be considered a standard item on cars and as someone mentioned above it will take just as long or less time for every car coming off the line to include sat radio. The sp does not take into consideration that they own twice as many satellites and are launching more. At $.63 it is a bargain.

I can not stand the banter that goes on between everyone that posts here on Sirius' articles and elsewhere. I have made some money on sirius stock and have played the ups and down and made more than I have lost on given days. Wether a rs is in the cards should be of no concern to anyone that seems to daytrade Sirius or anyone that has sold his/her shares. Just wait and sell and buy on the way up or down and make money, but keep the childish comments to a minimum as well as the insults, because it just makes you sound unintellegent. Yes part of my shares remain long.

    LUCKY CALL

The question remains did you make money on your call? Or was this just a shot in the dark?

The best comment yet. I do not understand how much dribble is waisted on bashing and commenting on the idiots. Just read and go about your business, do not sink down to their level.

  • Sirius XM Poised to Profit from Muzak Bankruptcy  [View article]
I find writing here is way too hard for me because it catches me in a positive mood that is hard to maintain when the stock is performing like it has these last few days. However I too have been trying to pplay the ups and downs and have been caught not making the cut. Just past couple of days this happened, sold at .70 and bought back later at .67 just to see it fall further back down. It is hard to make the sale when you feel the pop is just around the corner. What I do not understand is how companies with such horrible numbers like RAD, FNM and PIR have managed what we all expect SIRI to do any second. Long Siri

Do not pay attention to idiots and make relevant comments on the stock. I have not said anything as of late, but enough is enough. Just read or skip the idiot posts. Keep buying on the way down and sell some on the way up. Always play with the house's money and the stress of not losing your money makes for better investment decisions.

In Mass the rate of people looking for jobs and those who had all but stopped even, though their benefits had run out was calculated to be around 50%. If that is the case; the rate of employment I would have to agree is much lower than that stated in this article and concurr with Sidweaver in his assessment.

  • 'Free' Should Not Be a Sirius Business Model  [View article]
Yes, but everyone here is making me believe that the royalties are paid for each listener not each time the song is played and broadcasted. If sirius has 19,000,000 listeners royalties are not paid individually for all those subs. Back in the 70s I heard artist were paid something like a penny each time their song was played. Now there are 50 states and various radio stations that was a lot of pennies. My question is wether the royalties are calculated in a different manner for sat radio then free FM or AM radio stations (land limited short distance stations)?

From the posts I get the feeling that sat radio has made few bad decisions when it comes to rayalties then. But if anyone has other ideas or has a better grasp of what the rate of royalties is please let me and everyone else know it.

correct me if I am wrong, but if an artist gets paid royalties on every sub that sirius has; then should not all the radio stations also pay for every listener they claim to have? If this is the case the music industry would have billionares, rather than millionares. Royalties are paid on the amount of times a song is played, not on how many people listen to the song. As I said please correct me if I am WRONG.
