CVX is actually the next position I plan to start.

However, I continue to ponder the potential result of all the new oil found here in the US via fracking. I fear that the large amount of supply that will be added to the world markets by the US will cause prices to fall as a result. This is obviously just an educated guess as it may take several years for the oil to reach the market. How will prices react to the surplus supply, will that supply be offset by the increase in demand in developing countries that are now gobbling up oil (China, etc.).

Would love others thoughts on this.

Great article, I will likely start a CVX position despite my reservations.

Though I still believe that AAPL is the best DGI stock in the market right now based on valuation. RS,

It's been a while. Continue to enjoy your articles though we sometimes disagree.

Auto's are similar to the airlines as they are cyclical. The stregnth of the economy directly impacts these cyclicals to a greater extent then most other areas.

I agree with an earlier comment that technology stocks may not be a good long term holding. Perhaps not making it a "core" would be better strategy as it requires more observation and monitoring. Keep in mind I say this as my portfolio has 75% AAPL in it now. I know I contradict myself based on the previous statement but I am realistic in that AAPL may not be the leader in say 20 years. However, for the next several years it will be and will be profitable as well so it's staying until at least 2015/2016 though I will gradually lower the percentage invested as the price recovers.

I think your other choices are certainly warranted. I enjoyed the read.
