  • Good Luck Gold Bulls (You May Well Need It) [View article]
I don't believe anything you just said. Anyone that has been around and trading for 60+ years (bs!) is certainly not going to have a microscope on gold. In fact, you wouldn't even be trading gold at all, because you'd have realized long ago (1983? 2004?) that it's a terrible investment.

Silly rabbit. The fact that someone has been caught price-fixing certain contracts on certain dates is no proof at all that they have influenced the price movement of gold.

Your assertion is unfalsifiable. That makes it a "conspiracy theory." Perhaps you also believe that the government is manipulating the weather with HAARP?

The only sensible thing to do with gold, if you do anything with it at all, is to keep it in a vault.

I have not read a single article on Seeking Alpha by anyone that appears to understand the role of gold in the financial markets and in society.

All you traders, speculators, "investors" etc. that worry yourselves about the actual price of gold, rather than worrying about how many ounces you have -- you really crack me up.

Gold is a non-producing asset. It generates no return. Why on earth would anyone try to get a "return" on gold? Why not just go to Vegas? The girls are much prettier in Vegas, and they have nice jazz, and the odds of a positive "return" are much, much better. Why do gamblers waste their time with precious metals??

  • Advanced Micro's (AMD) Management Presents at Credit Suisse Technology Conference (Transcript) [View article]
I don't like hearing an SVP say that AMD "doesn't have to worry about" fabrication technologies.

Oh, yes you do... unless you want to continue to play second (or last) fiddle forever.

Is Lisa Su up to the task of leading this company? Or is she just presiding over a sinking ship?

  • Study: Nanoparticles could cut lithium-ion battery charging time [View news story]
@doubleE, 1100 failures (so far!) out of 60k is a failure rate of 1.8%, which for any manufacturing process is a complete and utter disaster. I suppose you are not familiar with six sigma?

If Musk wants to run a space program, I certainly hope he demands better results from his engineers, or else a lot of people are going to die and a lot of money is going to be wasted.

A 30-minute charge time still is vastly uncompetitive with gasoline, since it takes about 3 minutes to fill a gas tank.

Let me know when we have a battery that can go 300 miles on a 3-minute charge, and we'll have something to talk about. Until then, maybe Tesla can serve free alcoholic drinks at their "free" charging stations? Because time is not "free," and no one can give it away.

Not only this, but batteries are a commodity, not a high-margin industry. Is TSLA really going to just be a battery company? Everyone else will have access to the same technology -- TSLA does not have a patent for "nanoparticles."

How long until TSLA stops making cars altogether and just becomes a low-margin, high-volume battery maker?

I'd buy TSLA for $40. But at current levels it is far, FAR overpriced, and represents nothing more than an Elon Musk cult-premium.

  • Herbalife And The 1986 State Of California Final Judgment [View article]
HLF obviously maintains that they are in compliance with the injunction.

Therefore I'm not sure how this article is news. It is clearly propaganda, since it doesn't even present the other side of the argument -- i.e., how HLF claims to be in compliance, as stated in their 10-K.

Perhaps the writer should have conducted his own "exercise to the reader" and READ the 10-K before submitting this article?

  • Tesla Investors Are Ignoring What Elon Musk Really Said About BMW [View article]
Tesla's STOCK PRICE is by definition not a threat to anyone. So why would BMW "spread harmful gossip" that affects stock price? Stock price and sales are two different things -- especially for TSLA, which is vastly overvalued.

Anyone buying TSLA at these levels must have been too young to invest in the 90s, because anyone that has seen a real-life equities bubble would not touch TSLA at these prices.

"A. If you answered anything greater than $0 you are a speculator."

You clearly don't understand probability mathematics.

By your logic, all $100 million lottery tickets are worthless unless the probability of winning is 100%.

  • Gold bid disappears - down $20 in minutes [View news story]
Gold to $500 by 2017, or as soon as economic confidence returns. 2020 at the latest.

Save your pennies now, buy cheap coins from disillusioned masses later. The petrodollar and global capitalism are not going anywhere.
