Three Reasons Amazon Should Double Revenue Within Four Years - Goldman

We are slowly entering a recession, housing is awful, unemployment is rising, fuel costs are unbelievable, and inflation is causing the Fed members to talk about higher interest rates. None of this bodes well for retail so for Goldman to rate it a buy with a current PE of 70 is irresponsible.

But then we have learned repeatedly that the financial community cannot be counted on so this is no shock. Once more a fleecing of the unwary.

Sell in May, Go Away - Fast Money Recap (4/30/08)

Sell in May? Nope, not me. I sold in April. I will stay out of the market for the next 6 months (or more). Why? We have intelligent people arguing both directions for the market. The arguments in each direction are strong. The truth is no one can predict what will happen.

My belief is the market could make small gains in the next 6 months or make huge losses. To me the risk of loss is greater than the value of the possible gain. So, I will sit on the sidelines waiting for the right moment to reenter the market.

From Housing to Employment: We're in Big Trouble

Well, I think the man is right but hopefully only to a point. Somewhere along the path to complete and utter self-destruction I hope people are able to learn. I believe the unfortunate truth is that most people today are caught up in the "I deserve it" mentality. Lots of folks have forgotten what it means to earn something. More importantly, they have no concept of frugality. They will be learning hard lessons.

Amazon's Cloud Computing Will Put Its Retail Business in the Shade

There isn't much difference between clouds and smoke in this case. Cloud computing isn't new and isn't special. Every company of any size has a road map (AKA enterprise architecture).

Amazon, the Perfect Short?

I have had reasonable success shorting Amazon but ALWAYS failed over earnings. Whenever I was short, even if earnings were a meager increase, the price catapulted up and I got squeezed. Logic doesn't play well with this stock. I'll never own it over earnings again.
