  • Friday's Employment Report: A Sobering Dose of Reality [View article]
Fairy tales were formerly used to teach children. However, today we have been subjected to fairy tales on a daily basis. The crooks have charge of the institutions and will remain in power since they exercise power.

Fairy tales used to be written to inform children. Now we are experiencing fairy tales on a daily basis. The crooks runs the institution and we will keep them in there because they have power.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]
The market is going down but I don't know when and how much. One can buy pretty good 'blue chip" stocks with PE's below the historical market average. However, most will hold on to cash to see what the market will look like in the next years.

This is a meaningful start for the morning of markets. I have been upset for many years about excessive leverage and short sellers. Especially when we all know that noone knows who is doing it and how much is done. We need transparency at least and regulators who believe in free markets, not greedy markets.

The wheels are off the cart and now the cart is going into the ditch. We have to deleverage this market and control the wild shorts and traders. Many people today have nothing but money in the market, no positions either in stocks or bonds.

Informative! I don't know when the bear market will end but certainly not until oil prices level off and perhaps retrace. Most of the gains in the past five or so years are gone and we will see more on the downside. We have been asleep at the switch for eight years.

In an administration that has prided itself in not overseeing anything, we now are pleading for oversight. What a joke this bunch of blind men is. Does anyone believe that we need more Enrons, World Coms, and now the entire financial system. Please plea for them to just put their heads in the sand and await someone to comein and straighten out this mess. It is Iraq all over again.

  • Worst June Since 1930? [View article]
I agree with the previous comment. We have taken all eyes off the speculators and they are hurting the entire economy. Unregulated options and futures will eventually ruin all of us. People are playing with naked puts on futures using little money and controlling vast amounts of assets. It is 1927 all over again and we never learn.

  • Current Market Conditions and Future Returns [View article]
This is time when one should take the TV shows with more than a grain of salt and take a deep breath. I have continue to invest in good companies, adding to positions and am behind a good deal in short term returns. Good companies with a growing dividend will prove to be winners eventually, but eventually may be a long, long time..

  • How Much Inflation Will We Have to Endure? [View article]
Three billion to Iraq each week is more than even this economy can stand. NO ONE wishes to ackowledge this and few accept this truth but we are paying a price, at this time, in our economy. The plan, as it was, was guns and butter, tax cuts and war spending at the same time. Only a fool can accept this and call for more of the same.

  • Preparing for the Fall [View article]
I continue to be in the market but also have a larger than ever cash position. Cash maybe king but it is losing each month to inflation. Right now I find very few, if any, investments for investors and savers are being killed also. Oil will put us in a depression.

  • General Electric: First Quarter Miss Rattles Markets [View article]
The company has not changed but the expectations have. This is a solid blue chip investment which most portfolios should have and hold. I have own GE for many years and have recently added to my position. I see nothing in this situation to change any investment idea.
