I bought 7 of the Dec 12 GLD 160 puts/165 calls (strangles) for 4.64 on friday. The trade is up almost 10%. If gld rises to 180 then the value of my position goes up over $7k. I have balance my portfolio with your investments and non-directional options. If the avg stock price in my portfolio goes up or down 20% then my portfolio value will increase over 50%.
