  • Avista: Fully Valued Utility With Adequate Income And Acquisition Potential [View article]
Thanks for the article on Avista. It really is a jewel of a company. Bought 300 shares last September @$26.75...should have purchased more!

I was disappointed they sold Evoca. I thought it offered considerable potential for Avista.

  • American Tower: Expansion Plans And Efforts At Improving Risk Profile Earn Bullish Thesis [View article]
Equity Watch...very good information. I wonder who will benefit the most as M2M communication explodes over the wireless universe. Will the telecommunication companies like T, VZ, and VOD earn more revenue or will AMT collect huge traffic "tolls?" Will they all be winners?

Sold entire stake in MCD today. Cannot put my finger on it, but something is amiss with Mickey D's current operation.

  • Retirement Strategy: Coca-Cola Earnings Were Just Fair, Should Dividend Investors Head For The Hills Now? [View article]
Still long on KO but agree with Rudester that managements incentive plan reeks of greed and excess wealth that will be stolen from shareholders. I no longer have the "love" for the real thing since KO adopted it's "incentive" plan for management.

  • HCP: Decidedly More Affordable After CEO Got Fired [View article]
HCP...a dividend aristocrat, a wide business moat, predictable earnings and a growing dividend in an industry about to serve a huge portion of the baby boomer generation. What's not to like? I was impressed by the credentials of the new CEO and took a chance on HCP when Mr. Market was scared off.

  • 3 Reasons Why McDonald's Is A McSell [View article]
Good article. I have this question to ask you...let me put it in context, first. Being a child of the 60's, my values were split between conservative and hippie liberal. As I aged, my values changed. I wonder if many millennials will find that SBUX, PNRA and CMG lose their luster when the family wants to eat out and not spend a fortune.
Millennials will not always spend their time on social media. Someday, a family might require more of their attention and money. When they realize that saving money is important for family planning, dividend investing will probably look pretty good. What king of real return can anyone expect from SBUX, PNRA and CMG? Are those companies likely to enrich the millennials with dividends? What do you think?

Just food for thought for anyone considering foreign aware that dividend payment may occur only once or twice per year. ABB is one such payer.

  • Energy Transfer Partners And Equity Offer Complicated Value [View article]
I have owned both ETE and ETP for several years. I have been unable to explain to my CPA wife why I chose these 2 MLP's because she finds them convoluted.
"Hey, the income and potential gain look promising," I say. So far, I'm doing o.k.

  • Kinder Morgan: There Is No Need To Worry [View article]
We (SA readers) click on an article of our choosing to read. If one is tired of the same "ol topics and same 'ol story lines on any corporation, then just pass it by.
    Don't read it.

I hold KMI, KMP and KMR. It was painful to watch the value of my investments fall when the "shorts" and crooks were screaming about Kinder cooking the books!
I'm retired. I depend on dividend income. The Kinder family represents a substantial investment weighting in my portfolio. Yes, I was really nervous whether to sell or continue to believe in Richard Kinder and company. It was the sheer number of positive articles on SA disputing the Kinder critics that allowed me to hang on to my investments. The additional information in every article provided me the much needed psychological reinforcement to stay invested.

It was my choice to read or not read each and every article. O.K., I threw this out there...jump on my comments or not, it's your choice.
