What Happens When the Government Stops Propping Up Housing? [View article]
Where have you been all your lifel Housing is the 4th Rail of American Politic's. Every thing will be done to get over this bubble & if you bet against it over the long term, your going to lose.
The only thing these people ((Goldman Sachs employee's are is Financial terrorist Thugs)) ((in my Opinion)) regret is getting caught with their fingers in the cookie jar. They are against regulations on Naked Shorting, Naked Credit Default Swaps, the Uptick Rule,Dark Pool Algorithm nano second trading, ETC,ETC. This company should be broken up as soon as possible.

Glad to see you had enough courage to get out of your bomb shelter for awhile to sniff the fresh air. Seem as if you know how to dissect today's problems, however your criticism for any solution which doesn't provide for unemployment lines & bankruptcy is telling on your real lack of solutions. You seem to have disdain for anyone who dared to have a mortgage or a balance on a credit card and have fallen victim to their own folly or lack of underwriting from a financial institution. By the way its the banking industries responsibility to provide funding for the FDIC not the taxpayers.((Your criticism for Government intervention is very obvious , yet your solution is for a loan from the federal government**you can't have it both way unless your a politician)) Another point you made was that banks aren't lending. First off how many more new homes or condo's do we need any where. Also don't we have enough shopping centers & Industrial parks as well as apartment buildings to last a few years? The banks in my area are calling business to see if they can lend them money. Like one of my business associates said "Why would you want to expand your business in all the uncertainty over Cap & Trade ((An additional tax )) new Mandates for Health Insurance and huge tax increases for State & federal questionable expenditures.
Credit Crisis Continues as Companies, Banks Hoard Cash [View article]
I am amazed at the thinking that the banks aren't lending to qualified borrowers as I believe that is far from factual. How many more residential homes do we need built & financed? How many more Condo do we need built?, How many more industrial Parks do we need built?, How many more office buildings do we need built & financed? How many more Shopping Centers do we need built & financed? We have such an abundance of completed projects that need buyers & renters that the need for loans has dissipated. This country, its people & its banks need a small pause & rebuilding of liquidity before starting the growth process again.

What are you going to do to achieve your objectives? We still live in a country where we can make our own decisions. Evidently you don't like how people chose how they live or where they want to work & raise a family. You probably would make a good Nanny director

Great Article Tom & thanks for the info. As a long term investor who likes to buy good stocks cheap & I am willing to wait for long term Gains which take 1 year & 1 Day to obtain. With tax rates increasing Long Term Gains will be even more profitable to ones overall return after taxes.

A better solution would be to re impose the Glass-Seigel regulations separating commercial Banks from the Thugs ((Wall Street)). Also impose much stricter regulations on derivatives & treat them as insurance with adequate reserve positions.
This is a Great Deal for U.S. Bank & is a very good way to GROW Deposits & new customers. The thing you fail to comment on is that this is actually a workout plan & the FDIC does not have to put up any cash until there is an actual loss. The loss they project could be more or Less, but will not be fully charged for possibly 10 years. Tom are you a Short?????????
