To: optionsgirl: ~~~ Yes, the fear is indeed, that Steve Jobs as the Captain of this ship is irreplaceable! Of course, we are all replaceable, but Jobs' genius doesn't come very often in the corporate world. I really think the big initial sell off in Apple share price was mostly because of Oppenheimer's response to the Lehman analyst's question re: Steve's health. Congratulations! This is runner up to the most foolish article I have ever read on the internet! Fact is that Yahoo has been one of the most innovative, creative and user friendly services and that is why they grew into a multi billion dollar enterprize in a decade. I use Yahoo Finance daily for the best, up to date business and financial information. I use Yahoo! eMail and Yahoo! groups and Yahoo! chats and I just YAHOO! everything!!!I just hope that Microsoft doesn't get Yahoo! because Microsoft only wants Yahoo's advertising hits, which Microsoft has been trying for years to grow, and has frankly failed in the attempt. Yahoo 's advertising is triple the size of Microsoft's screwed up attempt. I predict that if Microsoft gets Yahoo! in a few years all the rest of Yahoo! will be ruined and discarded because frankly Microsoft excels in software, and they stumble thru everything else. Dividend Analysis: U.S. Bancorp Looks Cheap [view article]
There may be a slight dip in earnings for the next few quarters, but the dividend for this conservatively run bank is safe even if earnings take a 10% hit. With earnings on the mend, I would expect smaller percentage dividend increases for the next few years. I expect the next couple of quarters will provide a favourable window of opportunity to accumulate these shares, with double digit annual returns ahead. Apr 14 11:01 PM
