The automotive bailout will be just that. One more container of money following the previous one. The industry, both labor and management is begging for help. The very best help we can give them is to let GM and Chrysler merge, structure an organized bankrupcy, and proceed with funds ladeled to them from a small container. If they are incapable of handling their funds without help, why would we assume they would handle ours any better. Let free enterprise work, and let all stakeholders participate in a total restructure of this industry.

The FCC has blocked this merger for too long. Don't they realize it's one... or none! These two companies cannot continue to exist separately. Merger is the only answer.

The only thing going up related to this stock will be the forward dividend yield...because the stock is headed down. With the impending loss of Lipitor's patent protection there seems to be no other result to project. Lipitor represents 7% of it's sales. I wonder how much of it's bottom line profit?

Will Microsoft survive and prosper without Yahoo? Da! How about Yahoo without Microsoft? Survive? Probably. Prosper, probably not! It's an age old story, the richer get richer and the poor...well they continue to be poor.
I have owned both stocks in the past. Lost money on both of them. I would guess $10,000 or maybe a bit more. (So much for me being an intelligent investor.) I don't own either now, although I do have ten April call contracts on YHOO. I think this deal should be done. I don't care at what number, but in the very best interests of both companies employees and customers, it should be done.
