Will Apple Increase iPhone Value with Rumored Verizon Deal?

Similar to prior comment [Ted], the first carrier to offer a reduced data plan (pay-as-you-go or restricted plan) will win customers for themselves and their smartphone vendors. Apple should have the bargaining power to pressure AT&T or other carrier (Verizon?) into more customer-friendly plans (ie, more choices).
