    Bob,

At this point every terrorists in the world knows that our military bases are armed only by a few MP's.

With a little recon a small group of extremists with AK's and RPG's could attack and either kill or capture every soldier on an entire army base. Plus capture a massive and deadly weapons stash!

You didn't read my comment, I said "on duty", the last time I checked drinking while on duty is not allowed.

    TakeFive,

You are absolutely correct that transportation funds should be decided locally.

Denver may be much improved with their light rail system, and can you imagine DC without the Metro? Or NYC without subways?

But light rail has been a colossal failure in Miami and the 2 billion spent on Orlando's rail system will be a disaster! Tampa has tried to con the voters into a rail system for years but the voters are to smart to fall for it and Tampa is better off without it.

We also stopped the "bullet" train that they have been trying to build for a couple of decades. It would have gone from Orlando to Tampa with 5 stops at $50 per ticket. Average speed for the "bullet" train would have been around 35 mph.

    Deercreek,

Much of Common Core is to promote a purely political agenda but it is also about the publishing lobby forcing the purchase of all new text books.

    Another example of crony capitalism!

    Ducaticorse,

The CA congressman was also an avid anti-gun proponent who repeatedly voted for stricter gun laws. #irony

Cisco may have gotten a little help from the NSA recently! Of course our State Department denies that they share information on foreign corporations with American ones.

Snowden's latest documents reveal that the NSA spied on China's Huawei, the second largest supplier of communication equipment. Cisco is first!

    JC,

So true!! We should have never let Canada be independent. I mean after all they speak "our" language, except for Quebec and we should just force them to stop speaking french and start speaking American! ;)

    BlueOkie,

Obama suspended the tax/fine for the individual mandate until 2016 (after the elections), and the new president will almost assuredly do the same thing.

All you have to do is claim a "hardship" when you do your taxes next year and the IRS will waive the fine.

At this point I am not sure what is left of Obamacare.

    JC,
Anyone that would trade in their gold at one of those places must be truly desperate.

You have got to know that you are going to get ripped off! Probably a lot of stolen gold and once it's melted down there is no evidence.

    Bananas!

Chiquita will control 80% of the worlds bananas. That's never a good thing, especially for the consumer.

    R in Q,

I think a better analogy would be Puerto Rico.

Say Puerto Rico FINALLY voted to be independent and the US administration by executive action sent troops in to stop them. Claiming protection of American interests.

I bet most of the Russian people are opposed to military action against the Ukraine.

    bgold1955,

My understanding is that Toyota was cleared of all fault in the acceleration issue. It was driver error.

If it is proven that GM knew for 10 years that their ignition was to blame in the deaths they should be held criminally responsible.

The DOJ is sending people to jail for minor campaign contribution violations but killing people will only get you a fine?

    JC,

It is amazing to watch the extreme differences between "news" broadcasts. Unfortunately they are all biased and pursue their own agenda's (yes even Fox).

I make it a goal to watch several different outlets too. Even Russia Today and Russia Today America have different agendas/spin.

Energy Futures bankruptcy may be the first of many casualties caused by the revolution in energy that is happening in the USA.

The company bet heavily on coal power plants just as natural gas prices plummeted.

This revolution won't be limited to North America. The technology for extracting oil and gas will be exported internationally.
