High Gold Prices: It's the Oil, Stupid [View article]
Re: Natural Gas -
The reason that NG is not being used in the US is because Gov. Sachs has not figured out a way to control the 'global price' of NG - perhaps, its because this is a domestic resource that can't be manipulated through ICE.
Second: Since each beef steer consumes the equivalent of 155 gallons of gasoline in its short lifetime, and the American Public eats a huge amount of meat, to it severe detriment and that of the planet, on average and across the board - at least once every day...about 7 times the average amount around the globe - we if would just cut back our beef consumption by half...we would most probably cut our imports of foreign oil by close to half. This would substantially improve our health, save alot of money domestically (personal budgets/health carecosts) and reduce our foreign outflows by a significant amount as well as make a decent impact on carbon emissions...and most importantly, all this cost us nothing...
as 'untrusting' says: "But as has been pointed out by numerous authors .... when you have Goldman Sachs and 2% of the traders (High Frequency Traders, quants, algos) trading between 50-70% of the entire daily volume on the market, you get that disconnect."
Yep, ole Gov Sachs has become quite adept at leader alot of sheeple into these rallies, most of them their clients, and then taking a short position for their "in-house" positions...raking it ina fter getting the fees for placing thier clients in the mix...
Oh well, another day at teh office for the Greed Meisters, as the rest of the world burns.
My next question is this - Does Exxon and Conoco call up ole Lloyd and ask if they can up their refining capacity or should they lower it and for how long? The RBOB up and down, in the face of fundamentals that suggest it should be around $1.55, is quite a hoax at best. Some sheeple are going to get creamed better on these rallies....again!

I am amazed at how many are running to cover based on their 'ideologies' regarding capitalism and NO Gov.
We need to parse the word speculation, necessary for good commodity markets, and 'manipulation', that which exists in these markets over the last 3 years. My contention is simple: I bet if you barred Gov Sachs, JPM, MS and DBk from any activity, on any level in the commodities trades, this includes shutting up their "Analyst Advice", their owning a refinery and pipelines and stroage tanks, thier onwership in exchanges, like ICE, their ability to issue CDSs, their ability to ran a CIF, their ability to charge fees to funds to place them in trades and funds, etc...yo know, all those things they do, other than just be a good ole speculator who actually uses Oil and needs to 'buy it' for production purpsoes, and actually needs to take delivery of oil, then, my money says that teh futres markets, would settle down to mild and gradual price moves, such that Oil Drillers and refineries could plan real investment and production, and we, the America People and Global Community, could get on with our lives, our recovery, our economy and oh, btw, we might have avoided those 100 million people who moved into serious starvation last year, to include a large part of these having died!
Yep, that amount of reg and pos limits would fix the problem!

Shut them up...
Want to speculate in the commodity futures game? Fine. Be a real player...put your money directly in, and be prepared to accept the product...This what the market was built to do to help even out the roils of seasonal factors of real supply and demand, by producers adn end users...you buy, you play, you win or lose or take the goods...Yo don't just 'roll the trade over' with a CDS swap from Gov Sachs, who can make money with ultra-savvy play. and, you shouldn't be alow to take on-going, forever long positions in CIFs, (highly contrived. manipulated devices, and these other funds...).
Fast buck artists are - "Not only do the UNG and USO screw you out of your returns, they make filling up and heating your home more costly." as per the author...Time to stop the insanity!
Zboy, dont know about you...you sound like one the ones we warn of here.. Buckeast - "Well Said!"
