  • Jim Cramer's Ultimate Growth Stocks for 2012, which boast "the kind of rapid yet consistent growth that’s coveted in an environment where economies around the globe seem to be slowing." But buy only on a pullback: AAPL, SBUX, CMG, ROST, AGN, CELG, LULU, MNST, NKE, MCD.  [View news story]
Didn't Cramer say sell AAPL the night before it went up $30? Wow, glad I learned not to listen to him.

  • Weekly Indicators: Are We At A Turning Point? [View article]
Well, if you plot your 401(k) March 2009-today, the results are even more dramatic. I'm up several hundred percent, but I'm very heavy AAPL, which is up from 78 to 600 and rising. Why some want, as Rep. Pete Sessions said, to "go back to the exact same agenda" of 2007-2008 that sent it from 202 to 78 is a mystery. I can't afford another wallop like that.

  • Apple (AAPL) says it will hold a conference call tomorrow at 9AM ET to discuss its plans for its massive cash balance, which is likely above $100B at this point. Remarks from Tim Cook about how Apple is discussing uses for its cash, as well as other hints, has led to fervent speculation that a dividend and/or buyback will soon be announced.  [View news story]

Percentage is misleading. Actual dollars spent is more important. How does Apple compare to others in dollars? IOW, the percentage is small because Apple sells more. If Apple sales doubled, the percent spent on R&D would drop by half, but just as much R&D would be done.

Even if Cook did that, it's been a long haul with no command decision. Doesn't inspire confidence.

  • Apple Bears Are Delusional [View article]
My problem with Tim Cook is that he appears indecisive - unable to make a command decision on cash management. Keeps saying "we're working on it." What will he know in six months he doesn't know now? What does he know now he didn't know six months ago? Time to poop or get off the pot before even more people lose confidence in him. And new products? Few and far between seems to be the new normal. In at 7 so I'm OK, but had to change some spending plans thanks to Cook.

iPad + El Gato's EyeTV = any channel, anywhere, even the garage. I carry my iPad to the kitchen, the can, and the bathroom sink and watch/listen while I brush my teeth. You can also watch prerecorded programs in bed or whatev. Also works on the iPhone. Depending on your Internet connection you can also watch away from home.

  • As rumors swirl (I, II, III) about the arrival of an "iPad Mini" with a 7.85-inch display, 52% of respondents to a PriceGrabber survey say they'd buy a 7" iPad (AAPL) selling for $249-$300. Moreover, only 22% of respondents currently own a tablet. Of course, the 9.7" iPads are more than holding their own right now.  [View news story]
I'd rather have a MaxiPad, at least 13". My iPad 3 is a little cramped.
