A Real iPhone Challenger - Barron's

This article is very short sighted. HTC is horrible at putting out updates for there Windows Mobile Phones. Folks loyal to HTC that spent big money in getting the Cruise or Touch are still waiting for the Windows update to 6.1 or the video drivers.

I have seen the Diamond reviews and they arent good. Folks actually need to use these products before making these outlandish statments about chipsets. The infineon chipset is just being developed, who do you know the Qualcomm chipset is better? You guys are getting desperate.

Infineon, Marvell and the iPhone

Vijay, the Tavor platform has been around for awhile. You gotta think Apple was testing it long before the original iPhone came out. The Rimm Ceo said that the Blackberry Bold has been in production for 3 years. Isn't interesting that the iPhone and the Bold are being introduced at basically the same time? Rumors are saying that the Bold will not ship until July or August while the iPhone will ship in June? My thoughts are both Apple and Rimm will be using the Tavor platform, Intel wanted to sell this chipset at 40 dollars 2 years ago and Marvell is making these chipsets at Tsmc and have probably given both Apple and Rimm a deal they can't refuse to get a foothold in the market.

Wow, finally some positive press on this way underrated company. Broadcom has been continually pumped for it's association with iPhone. Why is it such a shock that Marvell could win the iPhone 3g business since Rimm adopted Marvell 3g solution for it's introduction for it's first 3g hsdpa Blackberry? Broadcom is the king of spin and press releases, Marvell king of real world performance.

Samij, that's not true about wifi being more of a power hog than 3g. Marvell's wifi chip in the iPhone was even lower power than the infineon edge chip!! Take a look at this article on how the iPhone compare to Samsung's 3g Blackjack.
