  • Has Gold Been Manipulated? [View article]
Gold prices have held pretty well for awhile now...I don't see any more manipulation here than any other market....just look at what JPM and GS are doing in the stock market.

With so much gubmint money sloshing around in the system, and much more coming, inflation will be the driver that gold needs...and no amount of manipulation will be able to stop the upward move...

I believe you are seeing commercial RE paper firming because of the expectation that a rescue will come for that sector.

Makes doesn't want to have all their work on the banks and insurers undone by another crisis.

God help us...where will this all end.....

Sounds very positive for Mrs.Fry...know you guys are feeling some relief.

Always be cautious of foxes seen during daylight sometimes indicates sickness like rabies....or maybe just a female hunting for her young.

    Good luck..

  • The article's called What Does Your Credit-Card Company Know About You?, but it's really more about understanding just how deeply bill collectors get inside your head. Interesting read.  [View news story]

  • Warnings from the President: This Is a Bear Market Rally [View article]
For anyone who came along in the 60s,the image of Nixon in Dr.Kim's article brings back some bad memories.

The country was divided in a dozen different directions and scarily close to anarchy. The Vietnam War was a disaster and public leadership was no better. The recession of the early 70s crushed the middle class......kinda sounds like today?

I started investing in stocks in 1973,fresh out of college, with a bright future ahead.I'd save up to buy hundred share lots,so as not to pay the odd lot fees were huge back then.A 10pt move in the DOW was considered a big day and this went on for years and years.

I wonder if history is repeating itself...again...

    Mr. Schiff,

You need not defend your position or your record with me.I agreed with you for years and still managed to lose money on short positions for over a year(every one of them turned out right by last fall).

    Timing is everything...enjoy your perspective..

  • What Does Dr. Copper Think of the Economy? [View article]
So much of the stimulus has been centered around the banking system and direct payments to the populace, the infrastructure spending has lagged in the US.

A ton of money has been authorized in every state for spending that will involve copper and other hard commodities..I wouldn't expect a lot of weakness in copper anytime soon...

  • AIG CDS Unwind: From a Waterfall to a Trickle [View article]
Just wait for the commercial RE resets....they will have to find another conduit ,like AIG,to funnel money into that mess.

BTW,Obama said this morning that TARP paybacks would be re-invested into smaller banks.Nobody is talking about that..
