----recently BAM purchased Longview Fibre. The timberlands are THEE best in terms of product quality,growth and future valuation. Located in between Seattle and Portland mostly, these timberlands of Douglas Fir, Western Hemlock, Red Alder, and Cedar, little known fact, the most productive forestlands in the World. Even better than lower B.C. or Southern Oregon. The Alder once sprayed out as a weed tree, has become an important source of Cabinet & interior trim wood with the look of pine but almost has dense and hard as oak. Furthermore the Alder has better color in this small region -much more value in future as that fact becomes more recognized. Harvestable saw logs in 30 years. So now just plant an area in fir and let it go no maintenance because all species that grow have great value.
