Demand destruction is not happening -switchover to smaller more fuel effective and smaller cars & trucks shouldn't be termed demand destruction. I don't see less driving or cars on the road. Eighty-five million barrels a day worldwide isn't going to drop to Sixty-Five million barrels any day soon. Especially in places that have billions of people that desire to own the freedom that an auto allows and that have the wherewithall to purchase.

This isn't early1980s when the Alaskan pipeline came online, and the North sea oilfield, plus the giant Mexico oilfield,Cantrell, began production.
