China,Japan, two large holders of US$, under pressure to support failing export market SELL Dollars in support of thier own economy creates problem for US Treasury.JUST at a time Treasury needs an increase in buyers for massive debt overhang. It is as Faber, Rogers say, Treasury is boxed in. The threat is an auction where the participants do not have the resources nor inclination to buy.
What then? Does the Treasury buy its own debt...?
