Thank you for shining a light on this gem of a stock. I'd love to see more articles on INT and the sector in the future. Although I've been harvesting right in here, this one is in my 15 year portfolio.

Alright, it needs to be said that the comments quoted in the post are illustrative only of people who don't know what the hell they are doing and nothing more.

  • Intel: Growth Has Been Formidable [View article]

Intel printed $18 today. You have to go back to May to 'sit' at $15.

    Jon,

Do you believe netbooks will ever be anything more than a niche consumer product? If not, and netbooks replace most consumer notebooks going forward, how is Intel's first mover status with Atom and current/future UPMC efforts likely to produce a 'disaster' in the netbook market?

The presence of ARM chips in cell phones does not make them the de facto superior design for netbooks, which are capable of doing a lot more than a cell phone and have a larger form factor that has been growing, not shrinking.

Ford now has the highest cost of capital, no matching UAW concessions, too many dealerships, no government backed finance arm, the most debt ... I could go on, but you get the idea. The risks of a 'me too' Ford bankruptcy is much higher today than it was yesterday.

I have a 2001 F-150 with 185k miles that gets 16 mpg. I drive over 25k miles per year and have the truck to tow a boat 2x per year. I will be using this program at the $4,500 level and let the marina drop the boat in from here on out. I think some of you are underestimating the number of business people who drive trucks and SUVs for minimal real utility and who, by taking advantage of this program, will convert their extensive miles driven from very inefficient to relatively efficient. I know at a handful of consultants in my very small company that fit this profile.

  • Stryker Corp Looks Good for Health Care Rebound [View article]
Health care reform is a big headwind near term, no question. But as long as the docs pick the implants, these stocks will be good for the next 15 years. I don't see the docs rolling over and signing up for government jobs any time soon.
