The Great Awakening: Boomers, Your Crisis Has Arrived (Part 3 of 3) [View article]
I'm about as tired of simplistic theories like this as I am of either/or solutions (e.g., either we are headed for WW3 or back to the land to weave hemp and eat beets). Would you rather be right or happy? See, there's another one! Seeking Alpha has higher quality posts that other fin blogs, all of which offer more insight than the MSM -- but we are still just chattin it up in the cheap seats & takin pot shots at the participants. Think I'll go outside and enjoy the fresh air...
Manufacturing Collapse Reminiscent of Great Depression's Beginning [View article]
yuck. I just hate this market! I like that gradual up and to the right, not this wa-a-ay up and wa-a-ay down every 3-5 days, bear rally every 2-3 months, etc....Volatility requires a trading strategy, not buy and hold... Pushing 60 and not working right now, I am trying to "get into" the trading thing.... but it is scary compared to just rebalancing my mut fund portfolio from time to time... wah wah -- high class problems...I just know that, whatever happens, I want to be sure I did the best I could....thanks to all you seeking alpha posters -- you are a cut above the MktWtch peanut gallery...
'You Are To Blame': Sobering Words From Dallas Fed President [View article]
Agree that the central bankers and Fed are responsible for devaluing our dollar, IMHO by excessive interest rate cuts and injections of "liquidity" in the past 9 months. The sooner they start raising interest rates the better, altho bankers and financial jockeys will whine and moan. Don't bail anymore of them out! Let them die (more likely, let them make tens of millions this year instead of hundreds of millions). If I have to pay $4.00 per gallon for gasoline, I'd sure like to also be getting 4% for my checking account balance, and 7 or 8% for my CDs!
