What Lies Beyond the Recession's End? [View article]
While in perpetual bull markets there were indicators which predicted 12 of the last 5 recesions. Now that we are in a bear market it is a case of the reverse. It is a pity you put so much work based on a wrong premises.
There are too many conspiracy theories here. Since each exchange does its own thing I will concentrate on the one I know best, ISE. The trigger for the flash order is the existence of a better price at a remote exchange. Without it, the customer would get a worse execution at ISE. Since there are multiple market makers and regular members at best price which receive the order simultaneously, everyone trying to act on it takes a risk, especially since the order is outside their parameters for that option at that time. It would not pay to try to game the system.

You seem not to like any country of any hue or colour. Where are you going to live, in your Honda?

"And “our government” includes not just the pedigreed scholars in the executive branch (Larry Summers, Christina Romer, Austan Goolsbee"
I am not at all impressed with any solution coming out of this pedigreed scholars. In what regards Goolsbee I see him more of a pedigreed political commisar. It is not difficult to imagine an average layman doing at least as well.
It depends on whether the bank loans are secured or not. If they are secured by equipment the lenders have all the right in the world to ask that equipment to be sold. In general the politicians are getting too used to break any and each law related to bankrupcy and otherwise, because they represent "the taxpayer". I do not consider that any politician represents me any more than any bankster. I am sick of all laws being ignored and one of a kind solution being applied in the favour of whoever is better politically connected or whoever whines the loudest.
So ADP is likely to go bankrupt in two years, and has greater problems than GE. You did one thing right, you did not provide your name, which can save you from the embarrassment that predictions like this can do in the future. Nobody will be able to say this is the moron who said ADP will be bankrupt in 2 years.
When you see so many bulls getting hit over the head over and over and never learning it makes you wonder what is the difference between a bull and a bovine. I am talking about reason #12, the most important because it colors everything else.

Since money markets which were viewed as cash broke the dollar withdrawing your money from it was an obvious reaction for all accounts, big and small, foreign and domestic. The proper answer was government support for the money market which was necessary, has worked and is one of the few things the fed did right.
