  • Wall Street Breakfast: Crude Prices Head To The $30s [View article]
Yeah, why is it that I consider it to be an ill-advised decision to give these people an email address?

  • Yelp: Is It Really That Bad? [View article]
Yelp can solve all the metrics, integration, and SEO issues they want, but I still won't trust that the reviews they actually show are representative of actual consumer opinions. Trust is incredibly important for a business model like theirs, and they've lost it, as far as I am concerned.

  • Wi-Fi In Autos, A Sirius Problem [View article]
    RobJoh,

There is something of a convenience factor in that setup, but I'm not sure it's dramatically more convenient than plugging my phone into the lighter outlet and turning on its wifi hotspot. If I intend to let the kids continue to use their tablet when we get out of the car, it's considerably more convenient to use a device that is still running after I shut off the ignition.

  • Wi-Fi In Autos, A Sirius Problem [View article]
It seems to me that a car that has what amounts to a cellular/wifi hotspot installed in it does not have to be particularly vulnerable to such an attack. Sure, if the car's systems are tied in you've got a route to exploit the thing, but they certainly don't have to be built that way. Think of taking an old phone, activating it and turning on its hotspot. Leave it in the glove box plugged into a power port. Utility? High. Likelihood of this affecting the car in a negative manner? Very low.

  • E. I. du Pont de Nemours declares $0.38 dividend [View news story]
I was in DD for years, but got scared off and sold my position on March 16. I don't like to sell stocks that I have thought of as long term holds, but one cannot argue with closing out a position at 79 bucks a share only to see it plummet and then drop its dividend. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than smart, and frankly I'm not sure which I was with this one.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Greece Capitulates To Stay In The Eurozone [View article]
I for one think America should aspire to something better than "Be glad you gotta job". That feels rather a lot like "Shut up and be glad we're tossing you a bone you stupid working class people, or we'll close the doors and take this plant to some other country, too. Who do you think you are, expecting a decent quality of life and a better one for your kids?"

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Greece Capitulates To Stay In The Eurozone [View article]
The statement "The Secularists have their own Gods" makes absolutely no sense. We will certainly fight if it becomes necessary. We will fight for our families. We will fight for our nations. We will fight for our way of life. We just won't fight for the honor of imaginary beings.

I do suggest following some of the best advice found in the Bible, in Matthew 6:5-6.

    crademan,

That's much closer to reality, but one should really be clear about using the term 'taxable income' rather than just income. Every taxpayer (ignoring AMT, which is not an issue at these income levels) is granted a minimum deduction of $6,300, although depending on one's actual deductions or marital status it can be much higher. If that $45,000 dollar income were for a single wage earner in a married household, before anything else is calculated you can knock $12,600 right off the top.

I don't mind discussions or arguments about the right policy to follow, but I do mind factual errors being used to support said arguments.

*Takes 2105 typographical error and runs with it, decrying Musk and everyone whose initials are 'E.M.' for their disingenuous claims of 2015 production when it's actually going to take close to a century longer*
